Modelling and design is a fundamental step initiating validation and fabrication or production of any newly invented or developed micro-optical component or product. In the Service centre for Modelling and Design 20 NEMO partners combine their competences in analytical and numerical calculations, simulations, modelling and design of all features of micro-optical components and systems where the main aspect is the simulation of optical parameters. All these services are offered to NEMO partners and IUC Members. The Service centre has the capability to evaluate the simulation tools through benchmarking and to develop the interfaces between software tools using different models. It also identifies the missing fields with respect to simulation methods and parameters that should be calculated and, if necessary, develops new physical models and modelling tools, and offers training courses on all available simulation tools. |
