Standardisation
The objective of the Service centre for Standardisation is to facilitate contacts between NEMO partners, IUC Members and standardisation bodies. This will be achieved by reviewing and adjusting the existing norms and standards relevant to fabrication processes, characterization and test procedures of micro-optical components after discussions and in agreement with manufacturers and end-users world-wide.
This Service centre for Standardization supports other service and technology centres of NEMO in formulating their recommendations to the technical committees of international standardisation bodies. It also endeavours to have micro-optics recognised as a full-bodied technology and distinct field in standardisation technical committees.
The main goal of this Service centre is to create conditions for standardization of fabrication, measurements and characterisation/testing of micro-optic components and devices using capabilities of NEMO partners. It includes:
- creating a database of selected standards relevant to micro-optics
- increasing awareness on the most important standards
- reviewing and selecting the most important standards of components, their characterisation and manufacturing, relevant to micro-optics
- setting up the inventory of selected standards.
