SUSS MicroOptics is a leading manufacturer for high-quality refractive Micro-Optics in Quartz and Silicon and the only company worldwide offering micro-optics in 200 mm wafer technology.
SUSS MicroOptics is a center of excellence for design, manufacturing, metrology and packaging of micro-optical components and systems. SUSS MicroOptics’ products meet highest demands as required for applications in DUV and UV photolithography, optical networking, imaging and sensors. SUSS MicroOptics is a front runner in wafer-level packaging and alignment of micro-optics due to the worldwide leadership of SUSS MicroTec in this field.
SUSS MicroOptics is based on know-how that has been developed in different government funded research projects at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, and the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland since 1980. The key personnel of SUSS MicroOptics worked for many years in different positions at both institutes.
SUSS MicroOptics will participate within NEMO as an industrial partner and possible manufacturer. SUSS MicroOptics will be involved in the "Centre for Modelling and Design", "Centre for Mastering and Replication" and "Centre for Measurement and Instrumentation"; alignment and packaging; as well as design, manufacturing and testing of optical microsystems for sensing, biomedical applications and MOEMS. As a small size company with 7 employees SUSS MicroOptics’ role within NEMO will be focused onto consulting and the later industrialization of new products.
